Martini may be a "special-needs" cat, but special-needs kitties often have the biggest hearts—and can make the best mamas.
Martini was a pregnant "wobbly" feral (likely suffering from CHP), wandering alone and desperate for some food and kindness.Fortune smiled on Martini the day she crossed the path of a kind-hearted cat lady named Cassie, along with the neighbor who Cassie feeds the neighborhood cats with.Seeing Martini's wobble and her swollen belly, the two reached out to Kym McNulty of Whisker Stop (a non-profit organization in Rolla, Missouri dedicated to helping local rescue animals).Whisker Stop took Martini in right away.
Yesterday, Martini gave birth to four gorgeous kittens—all alive and well and doing fine, thanks to the intervention of a couple of true "Homer's Heroes."
And also thanks to their pawsome mama, who hasn't stopped cuddling them or loving on them for one second!
Martini's beautiful babies: Sky , Belvidere, Gordon and Tanqueray.
"She is just the best momma ever!" McNulty told Love Meow. "She has a head bob and unsteady gait, but even with her issues, she is very loving and sweet." ,
Once Martini is ready and her babies are weaned, the whole family will head over to Tenth Life in St. Louis (the miracle workers who gave Lincoln the Formerly Quadriplegic Kitty his legs back), where she can be treated by specialists.
Martini stands an excellent chance of becoming a pampered house kitty someday, if she can find just the right human to take a chance on a purrfectly "imperfect" cat.
"She constantly makes biscuits and rolls over for belly rubs," McNulty reports. "She's the most loving, trusting, affectionate little purr machine."
