This young raven fledgling who visited Gertie Cleary's Nova Scotia home last month had just borne the brunt of a porcupine attack and needed help removing the painful quills. It's amazing to see all the trust on the raven's part--and the patience on Cleary's--as she gently removes the stickers one at a time. Cleary compared the experience to a child with a splinter. "[W]hen you pull a splinter out, they holler and screech and pull their hand away," she told CTV News. They say that ravens have incredibly long memories when it comes to their friends and foes--and that they can even tell other ravens about a specific person who's helped or hurt them.--so we're guessing Cleary has made a new furiend for life!
