You know how it is--you mean to do one good deed, and you end up doing three! That's exactly what happened to National Geographic travel host Zane Lamprey. Lamprey is well aware how badly animals often fare in other parts of the world, which has undoubtedly redoubled his sensitivity to those he encounters stateside. When he came across one desperately ill kitten at the pound, he planned to take him home and nurse him back to health.
But that plan quickly changed when Lamprey saw the kitten's equally ill litter-mates. "There were three kittens that were in rough shape," Lamprey wrote on his Instagram page. "This one was the worst off. He wasn't eating."
Watch the kittens' heart-happy rescue story here:
Lamprey had initially planned to foster the kittens until they were well enough to find forever homes. But, judging by this recent fur-family photo—taken in celebration of National Dog Day—we're thinking the trio might end up as "foster failures."
