She was teeny tiny and all alone--a little kitten lost in a huge storm. But then she was found by a rescuer, and now she's warm, dry, and loved forever.
This tiny tabby was found in a storm drain in Raleigh, NC while Hurricane Matthew raged around her. The kitten's rescuer quickly brought her to Petsmart's Banfield Pet Hospital, where she was treated for cold and hunger, and given an adorable little sweater made from a sock to keep her warm.
According to Twitter user Sarahfu, who was there once the storm had abated and the kitten had joined Petsmart's adoption center, a man entered the store with his two children and began looking at the cats. A vet assistant introduced them to the wee kitten and told them how much this special baby needed love, attention, and a home of her own.
Of course, it was love at first sight!
After a quick phone call to his wife (we're guessing their two children made a very strong case for adopting the kitten!), the decision was made--and a tiny orphan who'd had all the odds stacked against her went home in the arms of humans who would love her for the rest of her life.
But before they left, they stocked up on litter, toys, treats, and everything else a kitten could want. A true rags to riches story--and proof that even in the midst of catastrophe, hope and love can be found.
