If love is the best medicine, then Romeo the cat and Juliet the dog are living proof. They were found huddled together, hiding beneath a car on the streets of Chula Vista, CA. The 7-month-old tabby cringed in fear while his best friend, Juliet, cuddled protectively around him.
A Good Samaritan brought the pair to Chula Vista Animal Care, where Romeo was placed with the cats and Juliet was kenneled with other dogs. Romeo's health took an immediate downturn--and all the food, cuddles, fluid injections, and B-12 shots shelter workers gave him did nothing to bring him around. Then a staffer got the idea of reuniting Romeo with his Juliet. As soon as he saw his doggy soul mate again, Romeo rallied--and his health has been purrfect ever since.
