Aside from entertainment value, this pawty has a purrpose—seeking to reduce the rate of shelter returns by giving cat-loving humans practical advice on how to manage cat-behavior issues through positive reinforcement. And, according to the Acro-Cat's website, "A component of this mission is forming partnerships that involve fostering and finding homes for cats and kittens as our troupe of former orphans and strays travel from city to city."
The Acro-Cats' job posting on Craigslist says that responsibilities for the newly hired stage assistant will include cat wrangling, moving stage props, and assisting the master trainer; operating the merch table; assisting with daily medical care; and driving a 45-foot bus full of kittens.
